NatureWorks Passes Final Authorization Milestone for New Fully Integrated Ingeo PLA Manufacturing Plant in Thailand

NatureWorks has passed the final authorization milestone by parent companies Cargill and GC International Corporation, a subsidiary of PTT Group, for a new Ingeo PLA manufacturing facility in Thailand. 


Integrated 75 kton facility

The parent companies will invest in excess of 600 mio US$ in the new fully integrated 75 kton per year facility, to be located at the Nakhon Sawan Biocomplex (NBC) in Nakhon Sawan Province, which includes lactic acid, lactide and #polymer planned for construction to commence in the second quarter of 2022 and production to start in 2024.

Jacobs  been commissioned to complete the detailed engineering for the project.

Colleen May, President of Cargill Bioindustrial, Kongkrapan Intarajang, CEO of GC and Rich Altice, CEO of NatureWorks, all voiced their confidence in the project after the Thai Board of Investment (BOI) investment promotion approval of NatureWorks.
